For Richie and Karina, marriage is like a one-way ticket, no matter what will happen next you just can’t go back. Richie and Karina first met in 2006 in a Catholic Community. They started getting closer in 2007 when they were both preparing a camp for their community. Sadly, the stars didn’t align for them back then. They met again in 2011 when Richie got back to Indonesia after finishing his study in Singapore, then the stars finally aligned.
One awaited day, Richie picked up Karina at the airport after spending four months apart. Since they got together, they usually wrap their day up in prayer together. That night, Richie was praying for their relationship then he suddenly stopped. When Karina opened her eyes, he was kneeling and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him.
Their simple classic off-white themed wedding is held in Thamrin Nine with 1000 guests. They chose the venue to accommodate their family and friends who mostly reside in or near Jakarta. One of the best moments of the wedding for Karina is when Richie sang her the same song he sang on their last day together before Karina took off abroad to take her master’s degree. It’s a long journey for them to get here, but when you put God first, all other things fall into their proper places.
