(Flow)rishing: When it starts to flow and fulfilling once again
21 May, 2021
Before the Eid celebration break on Sunday, May 9, 2020, we managed to hold a styled shoot with our dearest friends. At 9 am sharp, everyone has already gathered in Concrete Warehouse studio at Daan Mogot and were ready to rock. We have discussed the concept a month before, so that day, everyone already knew what to do.
This year, we came up with an idea to visualize a mental state journey. We named this project (Flow)rishing, inspired by an article from The New York Times that talks about a mental state called languishing, a middle child between depressing and flourishing. It is when you are not feeling hopeless but not fulfilled either. The article stated that many people were languishing. They have passed the depressing 2020 but still doubted if 2021 can be a better year even with the vaccine rollout.
That’s a big idea, but we want to make it simpler. With the help of our muse Shanju, she represents a young florist who experiences languishing and tries to strive her way out to get to a flourishing state by keep flowing in her work. She finally found that progressing in her work is what makes her survive and feel fulfilled.
Together with Fiori Decoration (@fiori.co), Tiffany Liem Studio (@tiffanyliemstudio), Michelle Cornelius Make Up Artist (@bymchellecornelius), Caroline Hair do (@carolineimanuelle) and Eternal Diamond (@eternaldiamond.id), we successfully deliver this project into a fun and explorative session. It’s a wrap!
